David William Evans, age 77, of Horse Shoe died Sunday, January 8th, 2017 at the Golden Living Center. He was born July 7th, 1939 in Kanawha County, West Virginia; a son of the late, Wronsford Watson Evans and Reba Leah Myers Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Melvin, Joel, Basil, Michael and Leon Evans; and by her son-in-law, Tommy Eder. A longtime resident of Henderson County; Mr. Evans retired from Hunter Chevrolet. He is survived by his wife, Helen Evans; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Karen Evans all of Hendersonville; one daughter, Rhonda Eder of Oak Hill, WV; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Ann McBride; two brothers, Uel S. Evans and his wife, Doris and Willie James Evans and his wife Frances; and by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14th, 2017 in Thos. Shepherd's Church Street Chapel conducted by family friend, Mr. Jimmy Sommerall. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu flowers, donations in David's memory may be directed to an Alzheimer's Association or to a V.A. Association of the donor's choice.
