DAVID C. CHANDLER
CHANDLER, David C. Of Boston and formerly of Randolph, passed away on January 9th, 2017, at the age of 62 after a long period of failing health. Ultimately he succumbed to the effects of Leukemia, but never lost his signature laugh, or sense of humor. David was the son of the late Carl and Louise (Sprague) Chandler, devoted brother of Janet A. (Keefe) MacKenzie of Randolph and the late Paul M. Chandler, beloved uncle of Amy J. Richardi of N. Conway, NH, Stephen P. Keefe of Charlestown and Krista Chandler of Winthrop. David was born in Cambridge, where he grew up and graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service at Old South Church in Boston, at 645 Boylston St, on January 22nd at 2:00pm. Discounted parking is available at the 100 Clarendon Garage. David was a mainstay of the Old South Church for over two decades. A man of deep Christian faith, David studied for a time at Bangor Theological Seminary in Maine. A beloved member of the church, David taught in the church's Sunday School, performed in the Theater at Old South, and offered a kind word and smile to everyone he met. David worked many jobs in his lifetime, but his passion was always in performance, drawing much joy from his drag shows under the stage-name Davina Delmar. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be given to Old South Church to support their children's ministries, or to Dana Farber.
