Lipps, Darl 70, of Longwood Florida passed away February 7, 2017 from complications of pneumonia. Darl, was born May 21, 1946, in Conneaut, OH, the son of Lester and Mae Lipps of Wayne, OH. Darl, a 1963 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School in Andover, OH played basketball 4 years on an outstanding Laker team and ran cross country. ?Darl received his BA in Business from Kent State University in 1968. His first employment was in management at Goodyear in Akron before enlisting in the Air Force in 1969. While serving at Scott Air Force Base he earned a special commendation for being the 1st non-commissioned officer to earn an MBA from Southern Illinois University while serving full time at Scott AFB. He was awarded the Airman of the Month. Darl went on to be Vice President of Bankers Trust and was active in the Optimist Club in Belleville, IL. before relocating to Longwood FL where he was self employed as a Real Estate Broker and property manager. He enjoyed golf, motorcycles, cars and all sports and was an avid Orlando Magic fan. He attended the Aloma United Methodist Church in Winter Park. Survived by his son, David (Dee) Lipps of Chandler, AZ, his special loved one Anita Johnson of Altamonte Springs, FL, his cat Gizmo; a brother Duane (Jeanne) Lipps of Concord, OH, sister Nadine (Tom) Dubowski of North Olmsted, OH,sister Lorraine (Dr. Harlan) Waid of Jefferson, OH, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Marlea. Visitation Sunday, February 12, 1:00 to 2:00 with the Memorial Service immediately following at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 North Orlando Ave., Maitland, FL 32751.
