DUNMORE — Daria Marie Sembrat died unexpectedly and peacefully on Oct. 12, 2016, at her home in Dunmore. She was the daughter of Maxine (Minkiewicz) Sembrat and the late Stephen Sembrat. Daria graduated from Bishop Hoban High School in 1981, and Misericordia University in 1985. She was a medical technologist and previously worked at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and Geisinger in Scranton. Daria also lived in Baltimore, Md., for 20 years where she was employed by Johns Hopkins Hospital, specializing in hematology. She was an animal lover and world traveler, visiting Europe, Hawaii and Alaska. She traveled to Tonga in the Pacific Ocean to swim with whales. She also enjoyed kayaking on the inlets of the Chesapeake Bay. Daria was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Sembrat Sr. She is survived by her mother; brothers, Stephen Sembrat, John Sembrat and wife Vanessa; sister, Mary Elizabeth Medina; also, nieces and nephews, Monica, Stephanie, Nathan, Alyssa, David, Maya and Scarlett. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston. Friends may call 10 a.m. to service Tuesday.
