Daniel P. McNamara
Daniel P. McNamara, 63, a longtime West Scranton resident, died Saturday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. Born May 22, 1953, son of the late Paul Francis and Theresa McDonnell McNamara, Daniel was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1971. After working for the International Correspondence Schools in Scranton, he moved to California. He served as restaurant manager of Beckham Place in Pasadena, Calif., and the club manager at the Altadena Town and Country Club in Altadena, Calif., before returning to Scranton. Before retirement, he was the bartender at the former Villa Maria I in West Scranton. His life was his family, adoring his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and sharing a special bond with his siblings. He enjoyed fishing, was extremely handy and was taken from his loved ones too soon. He will be forever missed by his countless family and friends. His legacy will undoubtedly live on through those who benefit from his selfless act of cornea donation. He is survived by two sisters, Mari Carr and Carol Fahey and husband, Michael, all of Scranton; three brothers, Paul McNamara and Timothy McNamara and wife, Ann Marie, all of Scranton; and Brian McNamara and wife, Holly, Lake Winola; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
