DALIA Q. GONZALES JUNE 18, 1927 - OCTOBER 16, 2016 Dalia Q. Gonzales, 89 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 16, 2016. Dalia was born on June 18, 1927 to Ramon and Inez Quintana. Dalia is preceded in death by her Husband Seferino and Daughter Virgina. Dalia is survived by her children: Ramona Gonzales and her children Brian Lee and Ron Jr., Baldamar and Wife Mida and their children Raymond and Anita, Johnny and Wife Dolores and their son Johnny Jr., Josephine and Husband Frank and their children Seferino, Rick, and Frankie, and Seferina Gonzales and her children Carmen and Erica. Dalia is also survived by seventeen Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandson. Dalia is also survived by her sister Stella Quintana and numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Dalia enjoyed spending time with her family as well as cooking, crocheting, embroidering, and trying her luck at the casino. Dalia not only raised her own children to be respectable, caring, and hardworking she also played a major role in the upbringing of her Grandchildren by providing care for them before and after school as well as during summer breaks. Family and visitors most likely found Dalia in the kitchen cooking homemade bread, natillas, sopa, red/green chile, and beans. Dalia also enjoyed drives up the Pecos Canyon to have little picnics with her family. Dalia also enjoyed taking road trips with family and up until recently cooking Sunday breakfast for whoever wanted to go over and just spend time together as that was most important to her. A house filled with family members during the Holidays and other occasions was what made Dalia the happiest. Dalia was a woman of strong Catholic faith and prayed the rosary daily up until her final days. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Pecos, NM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Serving as Pallbearers: Dalia's Grandsons, Raymond Gonzales, Johnny Gonzales Jr., Ron Mascare¤as Jr., Seferino Gonzales, Rick Gonzales, and Frankie Lucero. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Dalia's Granddaughters Anita Gonzales, Carmen and Erica Caballero. Her Great Grandsons Raymond and Emilio Gonzales, Joseph and Tomas Duran.
