Dale Ritter, 81, of Poteau passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, in Fort Smith, Ark. Dale was born Oct. 6, 1935, in Muse to Cleo and Marie (Beaver) Ritter. Dale played in softball leagues into his 60s. He was talented in everything he did including music and art; Dale could fix anything. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Matt Dobbins; and brothers, Billy and Lonie Ritter. Survivors include his wife, Marsha of the home; children, Lynn and Chris Huffman of Fort Smith, Patricia and David Davis of Poteau, Kevin and Shelly Ritter of Shady Point; grandchildren, Crystal and Bryan Ollie of Heavener, Typhanie Dobbins of Yukon, Jacob and Kelly Davis of Howe, Brittany and Michael Dean of Howe, Shannon Huffman of Fort Smith; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Ozell Ritter of Irving, Texas; sisters, Mary Gail Flander of Grand Prairie, Texas, Loretta Morris of Whiteboro; other relatives, loved ones and friends. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12, at Evans and Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Burial will be in Whitesboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Ritter, David Davis, Jacob Davis, Chris Huffman, Bryan Ollie and Carl Grayson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dillion May, Jeremy Clayton and Clayton Cooper. The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Wednesday to visit with relatives and friends.
