Dale was born on the family farm in Sherrill on April 28, 1939, son of Milton and Leona (Tigges) Puls.
Dale was a very proud lifelong Sherrill resident who received his education at Ss. Peter and Paul School. He was united in marriage to Carol Trierweiler on June 19, 1962, at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, and their union would be blessed with 54 years together, and a beautiful daughter, Denise. Dale would devote his years to treasuring the two women in his life and not a day would pass where his actions wouldn't clearly depict where his heart truly thrived. Dale would graciously complete his responsibility of tending to God's creation in a truly honorable fashion. Farming was his task and the daily chores, and countless harvest seasons, were never perceived as a burden; but rather as a generous gift of a piece of this world which had been specifically granted into his care. He would also eagerly invest over 46 years of his time and talents working as an A. I. Cattle Inseminator, while simultaneously making countless new friends around the county. When he wasn't putting his hands to work on the farm, you could easily find Dale volunteering endless hours over his 55 year mission spent among his friends, and neighbors, at the Sherrill Fire Department. Dale was also a member of many organizations throughout his life; including the Northeast Iowa Red Fox Hunting Association, Iowa Firefighters Association, Dubuque Farm Bureau, Catholic Order of Foresters Court #1709 and finally he would diligently attempt to benefit numerous Bowling Leagues around town with his enduring drive to capture that elusive 300 game. But Dale also understood the value of balance in life, and when a little free-time would develop within his day, he could surely be discovered visiting with friends. Whether it was sharing his wealth of knowledge about farming, discussing the market prices of the day, or simply solving the worlds problems with confidence; you could be sure that Dale's day was complete if a little social time had been accomplished. Now, Dale was a faithful and loyal man till the end and his commitment to his family and friends will never be forgotten. Sadly, the world is a lesser place today without Dale walking beside us, but we know that his soul is finally at rest in eternal peace and we thankfully discover comfort throughout our loss because we know, and trust, that we will all be reunited with our loving husband, devoted father and good friend again one day.
