AUGUSTA, Ga. - Daisy B. Cook, 84, wife of 59 years to the late John A. Cook, and formerly of Richmond Hill Road, entered into rest Sunday, October 16, 2016. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 1:00 P.M., with the Reverend Daniel Hedgepeth officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Mrs. Cook, daughter of the late Lester and Lena Gaither Brake, was a native of Rocky Mount, NC, and had made Augusta her home since 1952. She had been a member of the South Augusta Women's Club, she loved ceramics and to bowl. Mrs. Cook was a former member of Gracewood Baptist Church and a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church where she had taught Primary Grade Sunday School, was a camp counselor, sang in the choir and volunteered for many activities. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy L. Williams; and her grandson, Jeremy L. Williams. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Anne and Dan Quinn of Snellville, GA, Donna J. and Derek Balbag of Beaverton, OR; her sister, William Ann Meeks of Tarboro, NC; her grandchildren, Patrick Quinn, April and her husband Roy Mills, Alison Balbag and Brittany Balbag; and her great-grandchildren, Dylan Mills, Daisy Mills and Dawson Mills.
