Craig Donald Foote Corpus Christi, TX Craig Donald Foote, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2017. Craig was born on September 10, 1948 to June V. Newton and Ivan Foote in Madison, Wisconsin. He lived in Wisconsin until he was 5 years old, and then Selma, Alabama for one year, before moving to Miami, Florida where he spent the rest of his childhood and young adult life. Craig graduated high school from Palmetto High School, earned both his Bachelors of Science and his Masters degree in School Psychology from Florida International University. He also served in the US Air Force as a medic during the Vietnam conflict from 1967-1971. Craig retired from the Corpus Christi Independent School District as a school psychologist, then went on to work for the Dubois Clinic as well as Art Castro as a psychologist assessing at risk youth. Craig enjoyed working with his hands and could often be found fixing things around the house or building things for his children and grandchildren. Craig will be missed tremendously and will be remembered as a loving caring father who shared his vast knowledge of how to fix anything with his children. Craig will also be remembered for his patience, his giving spirit, his wonderful sense of humor and as a steadfast man who was extremely family oriented and loved his children and grandchildren immensely. Craig had two great loves in his life, Kathleen and Diana. He was married to his high school sweet heart Kathleen for 38 years. During their marriage they could often be seen joking and laughing, enjoying the beach, or out on the water boating. They had a loving relationship and it showed in their devotion to creating a warm, loving home for their children. Although divorced, they remained friends and spoke often. Craig's other love, Diana, remained his girlfriend until his death. They could often be found on a charter bus headed out of town to gamble or enjoying a Friday night ritual of take out with Diana's adopted girls, Melissa and Grace. Craig and Diana enjoyed staying home for quiet evenings with the girls or spending time outside as a family, building things. Craig enjoyed the role of surrogate father to the girls, who called him TaTa. Craig is preceded in death by his biological father Ivan Foote, his wonderful step-father William Newton, and his granddaughter Jillian Michelle Foote. Craig is survived in death by his mother, June Newton of Corpus Christi; his sons, Craig (Christine) and Justin (Michelle) Foote, also of Corpus Christi; grandchildren Noah, Michaela, Joshua Foote (Justin and Michelle) and Braeden Kiernan (Craig and Christine) all of Corpus Christi; his ex-wife Kathleen Kiernan, as well as his girlfriend Diana Aguilera and her two daughters, Melissa and Grace. Services will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Portland, Texas on Saturday January 13, 2018 at 11:00am.
