Craig A. Evans
Craig A. Evans, 82, passed away Wednesday at the Holyoke Soldiers Home in the company of loving family. Craig was born July 8, 1934 to the late Clarence and Alda (Stuart) Evans in Springfield. Craig was raised in Longmeadow and was a graduate from Classical High School in Springfield, MA. After honorably serving his country in the US Army, he moved to Southwick where he raised his family. Craig was a professional salesman and had worked for several local companies including Gillette and Clairol. After their children were grown, Craig and Louise spent almost 20 years living in Port Charlotte, Florida before moving back to Feeding Hills about a year ago. Craig married the love of his life Louise (Clare) in February of 1960 and they enjoyed over 55 years of marriage together. Craig was a former member of the Elks and among the things he enjoyed were fishing, baseball, football, and the love for Cape Cod. Besides his cherished wife Louise, he leaves his beloved children Laurianne August-DiGiacomo and husband Tom of Greenville S.C. and Craig S. Evans and his girlfriend Marjorie of Feeding Hills. He also leaves his brother Brooke Evans of Truro, MA and sister Alda Ledoux and her husband Bruce of Westboro, MA. Also left to cherish his memory are his three grandchildren Abbey and Samuel Evans, and Amber August. For those wishing, donations in Craig’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, from 8:30 to 10:00 with a Funeral Home Service beginning at 10. Burial services will immediately follow at 11 am at the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
