CRAIG ALAN BOWLUS, age 67 from N. Chesterfield, VA passed away October 10, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Alan Bowlus and Mary Ann Rumbaugh and his grandmother "Ghinnie" Dorothy Ann Rumbaugh who raised him from the age of 9. He is survived by his wife Beverly Nanney Bowlus and his two daughters, Emily Bowlus-Peck (Sam Peck) and Katie Bowlus (Kevin Hunter); and also by the entire Nanney family who adopted him as their own son and brother when he married Beverly. Craig was born in Pittsburgh, PA but lived in Sarasota, Florida from the age of 7. He attended middle school and high school at Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida. He attended Washington & Lee University where he majored in English and graduated cum laude in 1971. He embarked on a career as an advertising copywriter and went on to be the first Broadcast Producer for The Martin Agency. Later on he was a freelance writer and producer for the remainder of his career. Some of the accounts he worked on were Kings Dominion, Kings Island, Bank of Virginia, Branch Banking & Trust, Barnett Bank, Monsanto, Accent, Owens-Corning Insulation, Arby's, Smithfield Foods, and others.
