Cora Sullivan August 26, 1926 - October 12, 2016 Cora Belle Sullivan passed away Oct. 12, 2016, at Williamsburg Retirement Community. Cora was born in Norfolk, VA, in 1926 and spent her early years on her grandfather's apple farm near Charlottesville, VA, and in Greensboro, NC. She graduated from Duke University School of Nursing as a member of the Naval Nursing Corps. Cora served as a Navy nurse at the New Orleans Naval Hospital and the Boston Veterans' Hospital. Cora married Francis X. Sullivan in 1951. She had three children, Kimberly (Bruce Pendery), Francis (Judy) and Katrina, and four grandchildren, Robin and Ian Pendery and Julia and Sadie Sullivan, who had the joy of experiencing unconditional love from Cora. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and her brother, David Medros. Cora lived her life as a nurse in service to those in need. She worked as a visiting nurse and a hospice nurse for 24 years at the Northern Chester County Nursing Services in Phoenixville, Pa. After retiring she worked as a private duty nurse and volunteered at Logan Regional Hospital and for CAPSA. Cora always loved animals, especially dogs. She found great joy helping people with her service dog, Talus, through Intermountain Therapy Animals. Cora's family wishes to thank the residents and staff of Williamsburg for their kindness and care. We also wish to thank the nurses and staff of AFI and Rocky Mountain Hospice for improving her life in her last years. A special thanks is owed to Lori Gines. A celebration of Cora's life will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Cache Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall (596 E. 900 North, Logan).
