Connie Ann Smith, age 68, of Springfield, Oregon passed away from a heart attack on April 10, 2017 while surrounded by family and close friends. Connie was born in North Bend on May 18, 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents,Wade and Betty Taylor. Connie is survived by Tom Smith, daughter and son-in-law Margo and Dan, her son and daughter-in-law Monty and Danielle, and her three grandchildren, Brooklyn, Colton, and Paisley. She is also survived by her four brothers David Franklin, Larry Taylor, LeRoy Taylor, and Edward Franklin. Connie met Tom when living in a logging camp in Finn Rock. She graduated from McKenzie High School in 1966. Connie and Tom were married at the Leaburg Church on July 13, 1968. They lived in Springfield where they raised their two children. Connie's children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she spent as much time as possible with them. She worked at McKenzie Willamette Hospital as a dietary clerk for 25 years. Connie loved doing Zumba, serving at her Church, and sewing or quilting for her loved ones. Connie was loved by many for her kind and generous spirit, and will be missed deeply by her friends and family. An open casket viewing will be held at Springfield Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home on Thursday, April 20 from 1-5pm, located at 7305 Main Street, Springfield. Connie's family would also like to invite you to a Celebration of Life held at Connie's church, East Side Baptist on Friday, April 21 at 12 o'clock noon, located at 4045 Commercial Avenue, Springfield.
