Clyde J. Duke MOORESVILLE Clyde J. Duke, 78, of Mooresville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born May 25, 1934, in Rowan County, to the late Clyde and Bessie Rice Duke. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army and retired from Baystate Milling Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Gregory Duke; and brothers, Lewis and Clayton Duke. He is survived by his children, Barbara Puck-ett, of Statesville, Michael Duke, of Moores-ville, Betty Thompson and husband, Steve, of Statesville, Sharon Trent and husband, Jackie, of Statesville, Rodney Duke and wife, Kathy, of Lexington, Ronnie Duke and wife, Denise, of Moores-ville, and Norma Campbell and husband, Kenneth, of Statesville; sisters, Betty Yates, of Statesville and Atha Rumple, of Statesville; special friend, Mable Roach; 12 grandchildren, including, Ricky Duke and wife, Lisa, of Sherrills Ford; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grand-children. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 21), at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home chapel, with Pastor David Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be Roger Duke, Ronnie Puckett, Robert Duke, Eddie Alexander, Vincent Davidson, Ronnie Duke. Honorary Pall-bearers will be Brian Koontz and Benjamin Yang. Burial will follow the service at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family received friends Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home.
