Cortland, Ohio â€“ Clifford C. Morgan, 71, of Cortland, OH, died at 4:00PM Sunday, October 16, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Warren, OH, after a heroic battle with cancer. He was born June 1, 1945 in Beaver Falls, PA to the late Louis and Ella Morgan. He graduated from Northwestern High School.
At the age of 19, Cliff followed the footsteps of other proud family members and joined the Marines. He served his country proudly with numerous tours in Vietnam. He received the purple heart, the prestigious Presidential Unit Citation, and many other meritorious awards for his service.
Cliff was a businessman in Trumbull County. He owned and operated Thompson Mechanical Inc. for over 30 years, retiring in 2010. He was an active member in The Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, serving twice as President as well as numerous other official positions. He was actively involved in many other civic organizations.
Memories of Clifford will be carried on by his wife, Billie (Morrison) Morgan of Cortland, OH; brother Louis Frank Morgan, Columbus, GA; sisters Shirley E (James) Redmond, Rogers, OH; Doris J. Borelli, Darlington, PA; and daughter Lyndsey Morrison and grandchildren Mackenzie and Brielle of Cortland, OH. Also, by a multitude of aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly. He also leaves behind a friend in everyone he met, known as "Uncle Cliff" to all.
Cliff was proceeded in death by his brother Ralph E. Morgan and his sister-in-law Barbara Morgan of Cortland, OH.
Arrangements are entrusted to McFarland and Son Funeral Services at 271 North Park Ave. Warren, OH 44481. Family will receive friends from 2-6 on Thursday, Oct. 20th and 9-11 on Friday, Oct. 21st following which will be a service at the funeral home and a military burial at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland, OH near the flag which he so loved! Any monetary donations can be made to the local DAV in his memory.
