Cleone (Nichols) Hlavaty, 86, of Arlington, Wash., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 9, 2016, with her son, daughter and granddaughter by her side. Cleone was born on May 10, 1930, in Fruita, Colo. She was married in Port Angeles, Wash., in 1953 to Roy Hlavaty. Roy and Cleone moved to Arlington in 1968 where they bought Stilly Auto Parts, working side by side until their retirement in 1987. Upon retirement, Roy and Cleone spent many years camping with their grandchildren at Colonial Creek Campground, a time that she often referred to as the best years of her life. If she wasn't camping, Cleone was at a baseball field, keeping score and cheering on her grandsons and all of their teammates. She formed many lifelong friendships at the baseball field. Cleone also loved to craft and bake goodies. Her 7 layer bars were famous among her family, friends and Auto Parts customers. Cleone is now united with those loved ones that preceded her in death: husband of 51 years, Roy, daughter, Rhonda Knudson and grandson, Adam Knudson. She leaves behind daughter, Sandie (Tom) Cooper, son, Wade Hlavaty and son-in-law, Mike Knudson. She will be deeply missed by grandsons, Ryan (Kelli) Knudson, Cory (Kristy) Cooper, Colby (Tisha) Knudson, Carson (Maggie) Cooper and granddaughter, Kayci Cooper. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
