Clement E. Couillard
Clement E. Couillard, 84, of South Burlington, VT, passed away on October 13, 2016, Clement was born in Burlington, VT, September 17, 1932. He was the son of John B. and Noelina Couillard. He was educated in the Burlington area schools. Clement was predeceased by his wife, Arlene, his brother Raymond, sister, Jean Mathes and his brother Roland. He is survived by his five children, son Richard A. Couillard and wife Maria of Bluffton, SC, son Terrence J. Couillard of Charlotte, VT, son Robert C. Couillard and wife Karin of Colchester, VT, daughter Deborah A. Sheehan of Colchester, VT, son Stephen M. Couillard and wife Annette, of Burlington, VT, eight grandchildren, Jesse and Kaitlin, Thomas and Chelsea, Derek, Kelly and Jeffrey, Jaime and Kristy, two great-grandchildren, Raegan and Colbie and one brother, Bernard Couillard, of Burlington, VT. Clement served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He later established a construction business that he and his wife Arlene operated for over 40 years. He enjoyed vacationing and spending time with his family. Clement will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Residence at Shelburne Bay. Per his wishes, there will be no visiting hours. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 11:00 am, in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church in Burlington, Vt. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Clement's memory to the Alzheimer's Association of VT, 300 Cornerstone Dr., Suite 128, Williston, VT 05495 or to the Vermont Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association, University of Vermont Medical Center, Department of Neurology, 1 South Prospect St., Burlington, VT 05401.
