Clarine Tanner Beach, 90, of Palatka passed away at Community Hospice Bailey Family Center for Caring in St. Augustine on Feb. 13, 2017, following a brief illness. Clarine was a native and lifelong resident of Putnam County. She was born to Oliver and Helen Blanche Murray Tanner Sept. 10, 1926, in Florahome and had lived for most of her life in Palatka. In 1977 she retired as a telephone operator with Southern Bell after 30 years of service. She had also worked as a poll worker. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church in Palatka where she had worked in the nursery and also at the nursery of Peniel Baptist Church in Palatka. She was a member of Woodmen of the World, Camp #7 in Palatka and Telephone Pioneers of America. She was always concerned for others and never wanted a big fuss made over herself. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Beach and Wallace Dodd; two daughters, Sharon Brown and Susan Huntley; a granddaughter, Charyl Fox; and two brothers, Donald Tanner and Roland Tanner. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Wade and Sylvia Holloway, of Palatka; and James and Terri Beach, of Palatka; two sisters, Lillian Tanner and Theo Dodge, both of Palatka; a brother, Leon Tanner and companion, Diane, of Florahome; a sister-in-law, Linda Tanner of Interlachen; nine grandchildren and spouses, Tony Fox of Palatka, Brittany Beach of Palatka, Lisa Beach of Palatka, Patricia and Mike Blasingame of St. Augustine, Charles and Christian Huntley of Columbia, South Carolina, Michael and Jackie Huntley of Keystone Heights, Matthew and Katie Huntley of Port Charlotte, Wendy Huntley of Orlando, and Celia Kay and Paul Johnston of Bunnell; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will take place from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home. In honor and celebration of Clarine's life a video tribute will be shown. Burial will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens. Friends may sign the online register at www.themastersfuneralhomes.com.
