Clarence Keppley Jr.
Clarence Earl Keppley Jr., 84, of Newmanstown, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Mary Lou Bordner Keppley whom he was married to for 61 years. He was born in Heidelberg Township, Lebanon County, on October 22, 1932, a son of the late Clarence Earl Keppley Sr. and Mary Catherine Buchter Keppley. Clarence was employed for 41 ½ years with North American Refractories in Newmanstown and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was an Auxiliary Police Officer for Millcreek Township and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Donald Keppley and wife, Lori Weik Keppley, of Stricklerstown; Catherine Heinsey and husband, Glenn Heinsey, of Myerstown; Brenda Buffenmeyer, wife of the late Lee Buffenmeyer, of Newmanstown; Clarence Keppley III and wife, Diane Reppert Keppley, of Newmanstown; Linda Stricker and husband, Darrell Stricker, of Womelsdorf; Ann Hassler, wife of Jessie Hassler, of Newmanstown; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters: Betty Bachert of Denver; Margaret Frankfort of Newmanstown; Stella Martzall of Newmanstown; Sally Weachter and husband, Ralph, of Newmanstown; Edith Martzall of Schaefferstown; brother, Henry Keppley and wife, Carol, of Newmanstown. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter Street, Schaefferstown, with a viewing beginning on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be made in Millcreek Memorial Cemetery, Newmanstown.
