Davis, Clarence Edward Clarence Edward Davis, 89, passed away Dec. 29, 2016. Ed was born Aug 5, 1927, the second of six children of Clarence and Verna Davis of Exline, IA. Upon graduating from high school in 1944 at age 16, Ed immediately attempted to enlist in the army. His mother refused to sign the enlistment papers. Ed then left Iowa for Chicago where he and a friend worked until they reached enlistment age. WWII was essentially over when Ed joined up and he remained stateside at Ft. Lewis, WA, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and the University of Wyoming, courtesy of the army, and returned to Iowa after his discharge. He met the love of his life, Jessie Lou Byrd, in Centerville, IA. They were married March 20, 1948 and soon moved to Casper, WY, where Ed was employed at Chemical and Geological Laboratories, which he and a partner purchased in 1962. He retired from the industry in 1984. Ed was a longtime Lions Club member, acted in community theater, enjoyed golfing, gardening, hunting, fishing, and fixing things. After retirement, Ed and Jessie became ardent AirStreamers and attended state, national and international rallies for many years. Ed served as president of the Wyoming unit and organized the National Antelope Rally held annually near Medicine Bow, WY. Ed and Jessie moved to Arizona in the late 90s, and became a part of The Beatitudes Campus community in 2010. Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Jessie Lou, his parents, two sisters, two brothers and a son, Steve (Terri) Davis. He is survived by his brother Kenny (Betty) Davis, Denison, IA, daughter Deborah (John) Crouch, Green River, WY, son Brian (Pam) Davis, Phoenix, AZ.. Grandchildren include Jason Crouch, Chandra (Shayne) Dodge, Staci (Adam) Bowers of Casper; WY; Brad (Kayla) Davis, Houston, TX; Andria Davis, Linden Davis, Phoenix, AZ and 8 great-grandchildren. Memorial Service is scheduled Jan. 14, 2pm at The Beatitudes Campus.
