Clara Marie Richards
Clara Marie Richards 76, passed away at home with her family surrounding her Wednesday, February 15, 2017. She had battled cancer since 2005. She was born in Union County to Broward Gainey and Wilma G. Williams. She graduated from Union County High School and continued to live in Union County after marrying in 1958. She was a talented lady and had many trades. She was a seamstress and worked in the lake butler pants factory, as well as having an upholstery business. She owned a local florist shop and was a florist for many years. She went back to cosmetology school and opened a small shop. She went to work for the Department of Corrections and retired from there in 1999. Survivors include her husband M. Tillman Richards of nearly 59 years, four children and their spouses, Curtis Richards, Pam Giebeig, Tina Wheeler, and Mitch Richard; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, two sisters; Sarah Thomas and Glenda Terry, one brother; Ira Gainey, as well as many nieces and nephews. Services and a celebration of life for Mrs. Richards will be held Monday 2/20/17 at 11:00am at the Archer Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Visitation will be Sunday evening 2/19/17 from 4:00pm-6:00pm.
