Christopher John Wallace Callahan was born in N.Y.C. on May 15, 1954. He attended high school in Morristown, NJ where he also sang in an Episcopal Church choir with his father. He studied at Houghton College and the State University of N.Y. and was never without a book. Chris’ interests included classical music, fine art, and the history of railroads in the U.S. including train names, routes, end points, and dates of operation. In his youth, Chris traveled in Western Europe and in 2007 he and his partner Dan enjoyed a train ride across Canada. Though not a particularly social person, Chris had an engagingly good memory for quotes and jokes, and occasionally displayed delightfully unique dance moves. Chris was a gentle person and a companion that will be dearly missed.
