Schoen, Christina E. Chris Schoen, age 87, passed away on October 7, 2016 in Bethel, CT having lived a very full and active life. Born in Brooklyn, NY to August Wilhelm and Margaret Eisen on February 18, 1929, she lived there until her family moved upstate to Stanfordvllle, NY, where she spent her teenage years on the family farm before moving back to New York City after graduating from high school. She married Herbert Schoen, PhD and spent time in Syracuse, NY, Germany, Puerto Rico and Cuba, before settling down in Stamford, CT, where she lived for the next 60 years. After raising four children, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Archeology from Yale University at the age of 62. She enjoyed tennis, gardening, reading, the theater and opera and spent the past 30 years traveling the world with family and friends. She was active in the Connecticut League of Women Voters and was voted the League's Women of the Year. She volunteered at Stamford Hospital and was a docent at the Neuberger Museum. During the last year of her life, she had the opportunity to welcome her two great-grandchildren Hudson and Oliver to her family and pass to them the love that she shared with all of her family. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her oldest daughter Karen and her son-in-law Paul Archinard. She is survived by her sister Betty and her husband Gary Lewis; her children Linda Frost, Redding, CT, William Schoen, Davis, CA, and Eric Schoen, Sudbury MA, and their spouses Stephen, Marti and Cathy; six grandchildren Christopher, Jennifer, Lara, Alana, Alexandra and Christian and her two great-grandchildren Hudson and Oliver. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held later this year.
