Christina Perry Boone Milligan
Christina Perry Boone Milligan Virginia Beach - Christina Perry Boone Milligan, 51, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12, 2017, surrounded by her family. Christina was born March 23, 1965 in Pittsburgh, PA. She is survived by her husband, Tom Milligan of Chesapeake; her children Henry Boone and Annie Boone of Virginia Beach; her parents, Peter and Margo Perry of Virginia Beach; her sister, Andrea Tottossy, her husband Joseph, and children Christianna and Nicholas of Virginia Beach along with a host of extended family. Chris' family has many fond memories of her and will miss her greatly. Chris dedicated her life's work to the education of children in Norfolk Public Schools where she started her career as a teacher of students with disabilities in Roberts Park Elementary School in 1990. She became a leader in the special education department and served as the department chair at Suburban Park Elementary School, prior to being named the Dean of Students at Rosemont Middle School in 1998. Chris served as assistant principal at Lafayette-Winona Middle School, and principal of Willoughby Elementary School and Ghent School. Chris graduated from Old Dominion University and was a doctoral candidate at Virginia Tech prior to her illness. Chris loved the beach, reading, and watching reruns of "The Office" and "I Love Lucy." Viewings will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach on Friday, February 17 from 6pm to 8pm and on Saturday, February 18 from 2pm to 4pm and also from 6pm to 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22 at 1968 Sandbridge Road, Virginia Beach. Chris will be remembered by those who came to know and love her as a cheerful, strong woman who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations of children's books be brought to the viewing or funeral. These will be presented as a collection to Willoughby Elementary and Ghent School to preserve Chris' memory. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts.
