Chester P. Suski
Chester P. Suski, 88, of Donora, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016, in Hallsworth House, Monessen. Born July 10, 1928, in Donora, he was a son of the late John and Lucy Suski. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora, and formerly of St. Charles Church, where he was very active in parish activities and served as an usher and on parish council. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army Artillery Battalion. A graduate of University of Pittsburgh, he had a long and successful career with Interstate Hotels Corp., Pittsburgh. He was a member of Donora Elks and Pitt Alumni Association. He was an avid tennis player and runner. In his younger days, he was a member of the Spanish Maroons Soccer Team. Surviving are his children, David (Diane) Suski of Donora, Ron (Dr. Lori) Suski of Lower Swatara Township and Tammy (Ken) Barrett of Oak Park, Ill.; six grandchildren, David (Shelly) Suski, Amanda Suski, Shane Suski, Dr. Kaitlyn Suski (Dr. David Barajas-Solano), Avery Barrett and Christian Barrett; a great-grandson, Greyson David Suski; special nephew Joe Menendez; stepchildren Augustus (Patty) Dallas and Robert (Barbara) Dallas; step-grandchildren Phillip Dallas, Scott Dallas, Sheri Stern, Jason Dallas and Jared Dallas; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his first wife, Mary "Ina" Alvarez Suski; his second wife, Irene Grispin Dallas Suski; as well as his two siblings, Ann and Ed Suski. Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where family and friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 15, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Valley Church, Donora, with the Rev. Pierre M. Falkenhan as celebrant. Interment will follow at Monongahela Cemetery. Donations can be made in his memory to American Cancer Society or Donora Public Library.
