Cheryle Mae Arthur, 66, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, surrounded by her family, after a five year battle with cancer. Cheryle was born on June 1, 1949 in Albany, Ga. to the late Paul Arthur Jr. of High Point and Ruby Katherine Anderson Propst of Fairfax, Va. Cheryle worked for Derrick's Truck Stop in Salisbury from 1981-2000 as a cashier. Cheryle loved to travel and visited many places all over the country during her life. She also devoted her time and generosity to local charities, specifically to the Nazareth Children's Home in Rockwell. She is survived by one daughter, Shelly Kiker and husband Frank of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; two sons, Gerald Timm Jr. of Salisbury and Jeremy Roseman of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Kristen, Rena, Tiffany, Taylor and Trevor; three great-grandchildren (who were her heart!), Kae, Preston and Riley; one sister, Paula Cooney and husband John of Fernando Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Don Propst and wife Lynn of Clearwater, Fla. and Ronnie Varner of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and her best friend, Sheila Sherrill of Faith. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cheryle's neighbor, Amanda Earnhardt, who visited her every morning for coffee. Also to the staff at CMC and Wake Forest Baptist and her oncologist, Dr. Black, for the loving care they all gave to Cheryle during her illness. Visitation & Service: A visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 from 12 -1:30 p.m. at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. A service will follow at 1:45 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Hallman officiating. Burial will follow the service in Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury.
