Charlotte A. (Fanning) Stewart
GREENFIELD - Charlotte A. Stewart, 81, of Greenfield, died Friday evening, Oct. 14, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born March 31, 1935, in Jacksonville, to Fred and Hazel (Wight) Fanning. She married Delbert Burnett and he preceded her in death. She then married John Stewart, and he preceded her in death in 2014. Surviving is one daughter, Beth Burnett of Orlando; three sons, Mark (Rose)Burnett of Greenfield, Tim (Roxie) Burnett of Pleasant Plains, and Brian Burnett of Taylorville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson; two sisters, Mildred (Tom) Holmes of Jacksonville, and Carolyn L Bisom of La Porte, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a son, Phillip; a stepdaughter Judy Weller; brothers William and Arthur; and sisters Betty and Martha. Charlotte was a homemaker and spent many years as an attendant at Shell shell gas station in Greenfield. She was a member of the Charity Southern Baptist Church. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed collecting antiques and porcelains and loved sharing time with other people. She loved her dog, Daisy, but most of all, loved spending time with her family. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of funeral service at noon at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield. Memorials are requested to the family.
