Charles Frank Walden Greenville Charles Frank Walden, 88, of Greenville, husband of Sally Lacock Walden, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at his residence. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Donald Morgan and Ivanelle Ladd Walden. Mr. Walden served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a graduate of The Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ, Class of 1946 and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, Class of 1950. Mr. Walden retired as a 25 year employee of Phillips Petroleum. He was a member of Mauldin United Methodist Church. Mr. Walden was a member of several groups and organizations including the 4 P's Group and 2nd Monday Club at Mauldin United Methodist Church; a lifetime Boy Scout and Eagle Scout; and a member of the Greenville Power Squadron. Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years are his five children, Kathryn (Eric) Fraint of Cherry Hill, NJ, John (Arlene) Walden of Mechanicsburg, PA, Donna (Phil) Gaines of Lexington, SC, Charles "Chris" Walden of Greenville, SC and Cynthia Henderson of Reno, NV; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Reed Mathias and Mr. Walden's home caregivers for the special care provided. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Mauldin United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial to follow the service in Mauldin United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Boy Scouts of America, Blue Ridge Council, 1 Park Plaza, Greenville, SC 29607.
