| Send Sympathy Card NUNNALLY, Charles Andrew Jr., after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2017, to join his Heavenly Father. He was born on June 12, 1935, to Bessie Barnes and Charles A. Nunnally Sr., who predeceased him in death. He was also predeceased by his half-brother, Melvin "Miff" Miffleton. Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Martha M.B. Nunnally; his stepson, Norton M. "Tripp" Bowman III (Jeanette Kelly); and his only grandson, Norton M. "Mason" Bowman IV. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Hazel S. Miffleton; sister-in-law, Ida B. Marshall; brother-in-law, William J. "Billy" Marshall Jr. and his wife, Dee; sister-in-law, Judith M. "Judy" Weaver and her husband, Brian. In his youth, Charles was raised in the Highland Park area of Richmond. He attended Binford Junior High and finished his schooling at John Marshall High School, where he served in the John Marshall Corps of Cadets, "D" company. Charles' professional career was devoted to home improvement. He was the pioneer of introducing vinyl siding to the Richmond market by obtaining an exclusive two-year franchise from Mastic Vinyl Siding, distributed by what was then known as Ted Lansing Supply Company. He received the Golden Hammer Contractor award from Alcoa for being an outstanding craftsman who had earned an excellent reputation in the siding industry and community. Charles was the owner of Short Pump Siding and Trim and from that business, not only did he have many customers, but some remained longtime friends.
