Charles F. "Chuck" Murabito
Murabito, Charles F. "Chuck" Rochester: Passed away in Rochester on October 12, 2016, at the age of 78, after a brief illness. Chuck is survived by his daughter Beth (Gene Peluso) Peluso; his son Matt (Karen) Murabito; grandchildren Stefani and Patrick Peluso, and Samantha and Benjamin Murabito; his former wife Elaine Murabito; his brother Anthony; his sister Mary; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Santo and Caroline; and his brother, Joseph. Chuck was born and raised in Oswego and after spending three years in the U.S. Navy and receiving a BA from Drake College in Florida, he settled in the Rochester area. For many years, he was the owner and proprietor of Charlie's in Ontario, New York, among other positions held. Chuck was a world class raconteur, liver of life, collector of fine friends in every phase of life, and an avid Notre Dame, New York Yankees, and Buffalo Bills fan. Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 18, from 4 to 7 pm at Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. 2nd Street, Oswego. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Oswego on Wednesday, October 19, with a reception to follow at Vona's Restaurant at 9 Willow Street in Oswego. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Chuck's name to the American Cancer Society. Chuck's family would like to sincerely thank his doctors, nurses and caregivers at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, as well as the staff at The Landing of Brighton.
