In memory of
Charles A. Klemick
Charles A. Klemick passed away peacefully Thursday morning, February 9, 2017 in State College, PA. He was born in Shamokin, PA on March 18, 1925, the son of Charles and Anna Scotko Klemick, brother to Clara Klemick Stellar, and to Donald and Richard Klemick. He was a beloved husband to Mary Bonchak Klemick, sharing a devoted 69-year marriage. Charlie took pride in his 34-year career with Bell Telephone of PA. Throughout his life he enthusiastically volunteered his talents and time at several charitable organizations in Central Pennsylvania. He was honored to receive the Jefferson Award for Public Service in recognition of his commitment to volunteer work. He cared deeply about the outdoors, feeling most at home in the Pennsylvania woods or the high country of Colorado. He treasured time with friends, especially around the table featuring Mary's delicious dinners. Always open to new experiences and knowledge, his interests included sports, travel, and music. He was the sort of dancer that people would gather to watch and applaud. He served his country in the US Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. Charlie is survived by his wife Mary, sister-in-law Ger Bonchak, children Mark Klemick (Wendy), Joli Rockwood (Tony), Elyse Ament (Nic), and Chris Klemick (Lynne) and two generations of grandchildren. Memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the United Cerebral Palsy of Central Pennsylvania would honor him greatly.
