Charles Haines Sr.
Charles Eugene "Chick" Haines, Sr., 84, of Westminster, died Monday, October 17, 2016, at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Born August 23, 1932 in Westminster, he was the son of the late Sadie Wheeler and Carvel Haines. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Haines. He worked as a self-employed painter. He was a life member of the VFW Molleville Farm Post No. 467, the American Legion Carroll Post No. 31 and United Coon Hunters Association. He enjoyed hunting, trap shooting and spending time with his family. Besides his wife, he is survived by children and spouses Sheila Snyder and husband Steve of Westminster, Linda Hook of Westminster and Charles E. "Chick" Haines, Jr. and wife Marie of Hampstead, sisters and brother-in-law, Thelma and Claude Bohn of Union Bridge and Christina Rill of Westminster, 4 grandchildren Mark Kemp and wife Jennifer of Sykesville, Charles "Chick" Haines, III and wife Shannon of Westminster, Christy Kurz and husband Chris of Ormond Beach, FL and Karrie Ann Hook of Westminster, 8 great-grandchildren Emily, Garrett, Hannah, Cayden, Colleen, Madelyn, Cash and Charlee. He was predeceased by a son-in-law Butch Hook, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Bragg officiating.
