Charles Henry 'Charlie' Green Jr.
Charlie was born to Antoinette Hortman Green and Charles Henry Green in New Orleans on July 23, 1939, and died at his home in Baton Rouge on October 10, 2016. He was a veteran of the Naval Air Force, and served during the Cuban Crisis. He started his career as a heavy equipment salesman at Wm. F. Surgi Corporation in Baton Rouge. He was a deacon and active member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, and had been a member of the Baton Rouge Jaycees, Sales & Marketing Executives, Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, and the Baton Rouge chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America. His wife, Elizabeth "Beth" Palmer Green, preceded him in death in 2011. He is survived by his daughter, Palmer RheaAnn Green Johnston, and her husband, Alfred Wayne Johnston, of Savannah, Georgia, and his sister, Louise Green Winders, of Costa Mesa, California. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15, at 2 pm at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. Charlie will be laid to rest next to Beth in Arlington Memorial Cemetery in El Dorado, Arkansas.
