Mr. Charles W. Gilstrap
Charles W. Gilstrap
Mr. Charles W. Gilstrap, 91, born July 21, 1925, left his earthly home to join his wife, Lou Ellen Raines Gilstrap, in his heavenly home Wednesday, April 19, 2017. They were married for almost 60 years. What a sweet reunion as Nanny opened her arms to welcome Daddy. We can see Daddy running through the gates of heaven with no more pain and suffering. Jesus makes all things whole.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late James Benson and Maggie Lou Ellen Brooks Gilstrap, Mr. Gilstrap retired from Ryobi and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He was a US Army Veteran having served in WWII.
Daddy enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, church and gardening. He especially enjoyed his Bantam chickens.
He leaves behind 3 children, Billy Gilstrap (Cindy) of Easley, Kathy G. Nevins (Ray) of Easley, and Linda G. Robinson (Daryl) of Liberty; a brother, Don Gilstrap of Easley; a sister, Doris Trotter of Liberty; four grandchildren, Chris Robinson, Carrie Gregory (Bill), James Gilstrap (Amanda), and Leslie Tate (Ben); five great-grandchildren, Ashley Bagwell, Brayden Bagwell, Harrison Gregory, Landon Gregory and Samantha Tate. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Gilstrap was predeceased by an infant daughter, Vickie Gilstrap; 9 brothers and 9 sisters.
