Charles David Dunn, age 68, of Rothbury, Michigan passed away at his home on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016. He was born in Florence, Arizona on Aug. 19, 1948 the son of Walter and Abbie (Persinger) Dunn. On Aug. 14, 1971 he was united in marriage to Donna Jean Walton in Beaverton, Michigan. They celebrated 35 wonderful years together before she predeceased him in 2006. He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam Era, and retired from the Army National Guard. He was employed with the Michigan Reformatory in Ionia, Michigan as a Corrections Officer. He had lived in Oceana County for the last five years, previously residing in Arizona. His memory will be forever cherished by his daughter Teresa Dunn of Midland, sons: Charles Dunn Jr. of Rockport, Texas and Michael James Dunn of Hawaii. He was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren: Mariah, Cameron and Malaki. He will also be dearly missed by his sister Abbie Leeball, and brother Walter Dunn – both of Rothbury, sisters: Armilda Chaves, Janice Blair – both of Coolidge, Arizona, Wilma Haney of Arizona, Nancy Dunn of Hart, Michigan, and Tommie Salcido of Sanmanwell, Arizona; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Donna Jean Dunn, parents, two sisters, and one brother. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Brad Lower on Wednesday, Oct.19, 2016, 11 a.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. The family received friends on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 from 5-8 p.p. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
