BROOKVILLE — Charles Franklin Cruse, 84, of Brookville, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016. He was born Nov. 24, 1931, in Toledo, to the late Robert and Marie (Carroll) Cruse. He graduated from DeVilbiss High School class of 1950. He retired from AT&T in 1988 after 38 years as a Network Service Manager. Chuck was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member and Trustee at Phillipsburg United Methodist Church, a member of the Air Force Association, past commander of American Legion Post # 707, a life member of V.F.W. Post 4161 in Arcanum, and the Amvets Post #99 in Vandalia. Chuck was also a member of the Ross County Genealogical Society and the Clay Township Historical Society. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and deer hunting. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Robert "Bob" and Lynda Cruse of Lewisburg, daughters and son-in-law: Linda Blair of Indiana, Mary and Frank Schaeffer of Eaton, sister: Joan Sullivan of Washington, grandchildren: Bailey Cruse, Riley Cruse, Casey Blair, Shannon Blair, Travis Schaeffer, Cade Schaeffer, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Janice (Clampitt) Cruse. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood).
