Charles J. "Buck" Buchanan
Charles “Buck” J. Buchanan 1940-2017 age 76, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday. Jan. 12, 2017. He was born in Canton, Ohio, on July 4, 1940, to the late Manon and Candace Buchanan. Charles was an Army Veteran, retired from the Timken Company, and a former Volunteer Fireman with the Nimishillen Township where he had served as Township Chief. He was a member of the Beacon of Hope Community Church in Louisville. He loved his grandchildren and loved making things out of wood for them. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Springer) Buchanan; two sons, Charles Scott Buchanan, Jeffery Lee (Holly) Buchanan; six grandchildren: Jennifer, Ray, Amanda, Zachary, Bridgette Buchanan and Victoria (Jimmy) Corder; one great-granddaughter, Zoraida Corder. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Beacon of Hope Community Church in Louisville, with the Rev. Ralph Gibson officiating. Calling hours will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home of Louisville and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Garden, Canton, Ohio.
