Charles Albert "Chuck" Breath, III April 2, 1946--October 16, 2016 Bay St. Louis, MS Charles Albert "Chuck" Breath III, 70, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016 in Bay St. Louis, MS. Chuck was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS, a US Navy Vietnam veteran, and a past Commodore of the Bay Waveland Yacht Club. He loved spending time with his family, being on the water and sharing his culinary skills cooking for charitable events and parties. He was a skilled boater, sailor and avid fisherman. Chuck was a skipper on the first winning Junior and Senior Lipton teams for Bay Waveland Yacht Club in 1963. Chuck went on to win many additional sailing races over the years and was undefeated as Team Captain winning 5 Lipton Sailing Championships. Chuck had a sense of humor that was treasured by all who knew him. He loved making people laugh. When he retired from Hancock Bank after 30 years, he pursued a new hobby of building and restoring wooden boats. He built two wooden skiffs at the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum School and, along with his wife Ellen, restored a 1958 Lyman Run About. All three of the boats won many awards in boat shows across the country in national and regional competitions. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. Breath, Jr. and Mary B. Breath and his sister, June B. Coffer. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 48 years, Ellen Colson Breath of Bay St. Louis, MS; son, Charles, A. Breath IV and his wife Katie of Pass Christian, MS; daughter, Karen "Missy" Breath Altese and her husband Vince of Bay St. Louis, MS; two sisters, Rita Breath of Mandeville, LA and Sue B. McGuire of Mandeville, LA; three grandchildren, Charlie Breath, Corbin Altese and Addison Altese. The family prefers memorials to Our Lady of the Gulf Church, Team Gleason Foundation or The Louisiana/Mississippi Chapter of the ALS Foundation. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS with a visitation from 11:00-1:00 p.m. followed by a 1:00 p.m. mass. A private burial will be held at a later date. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
