Charlene Murphy, a long-time Boise resident who also lived in Lowman for twenty years before moving to Oregon where she spent the last four years of her life, died peacefully on the 15th of October at Oregon Health Sciences University. Born in 1941 in Elko, Nevada, Charlene spent a career for Morrison-Knudsen in the aviation division where she retired. However, her greatest accomplishment was achieved through her unending devotion to her husband and children. Her lifetime dream was to live in Oregon, and her days spent there were some of her best ever. Charlene enjoyed embroidery and sewing, reading history, and watching old movies. Her gentle spirit and soft-spoken words were always kind and gracious. Charlene was a giver, and her greatest gift was her loving, gentle wisdom bestowed on all who heard her. Her loving display of affection and care for her husband were a most profound display of genuine marital love. Charlene is survived by her husband, LaVon; her mother, Arvila Haddenham; her sisters: Betty, Nancy, Shirley and Debbie; her four children: Ferlin, Teresa, Shane and Trina; and fifteen grandchildren, all of whom greatly loved her. A memorial service will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, ID, October 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Memorial gifts may be made to Shriners Hospital.
