Chad Ryan Meldrum of Belfair, Washington, passed from mortality on October 9, 2016. Chad was 27 years old. Chad spent his early years in Kent and Auburn, Washington, but moved to Port Angeles at the beginning of his high school years. Chad was an outstanding wrestler who was recognized for his technical skills and won many tournaments and awards. Chad was also involved in Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Chad was a graduate of Port Angeles High School in 2008. After high school, Chad served a church mission in Michigan for two years. Shortly after returning home from Michigan, Chad was diagnosed with NF2 (neurofibromatosis type 2). As a result of this condition, Chad was found to have brain tumors, which led to multiple brain surgeries, deafness, constant migraine headaches and ultimately his death. Chad is remembered for his smile and his unconditional love for others, especially his family. Chad dearly loved his three siblings and their children. Chad is survived by his parents, Eric and Veronica Meldrum of Belfair; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Amy and Shavik Pearson and Chelsey and Adam Bettger of Port Angeles; his brother, Blake Meldrum of Belfair; his nieces, Chloe Pearson and Leila Bettger of Port Angeles; and his nephew, Boone Pearson of Port Angeles. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 15, at 11:30 a.m. at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 591 Monroe Road, Port Angeles. We invite all who knew and loved Chad to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the GoFundMe account in Chad's name to cover his final expenses: www.gofundme.com/w34ckyhc.
