Cecile Y. (LaBrie) Tessier
FLORENCE – Cecile Y. (LaBrie) Tessier, 96, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Linda Manor Extended Care Facility. She was born October 11, 1920, in Plessisville, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Roy) LaBrie. Cecile graduated from South Hadley High School and was a communicant of Annunciation Church, Florence. She was a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality and the Red Hat Society. Cecile formerly bowled with the Senior Citizens Bowling League of Northampton. She was predeceased by her husband, Elie J. Tessier; a granddaughter, Lori Tessier; five brothers, Albert, Antonio, Maurice, Eugene, and Alphonse LaBrie; and two sisters, Bibiane Morin and Rita Moquin. Cecile is survived by her three sons, Richard J. Tessier and his wife Dale of Hadley, Peter J. Tessier and his wife Betty Ann of Cummington, and Alan J. Tessier and his wife Pamela of Lisbon Falls, Maine; a chosen daughter, Jacqueline Labrie Dore of Chicopee; four grandchildren, Rob, Greg, Amy and Eric Tessier; six great-grandchildren; a brother Leonel LaBrie of Chicopee; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 18, beginning at 9 a.m. from the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Annunciation Chapel, Beacon Street, Florence. Rites of Committal and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Leeds. Visiting hours will be held Monday, April 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Cecile's family would like to thank Dr. Henry Simpkin, the staff at Linda Manor Assisted Living and Extended Care, and Ed Olander registered nurse and the staff of Hospice of the Fisher Home for the compassionate love and care that they gave to Cecile.
