CATHERINE T. McCORKLE
McCORKLE CATHERINE T., entered into eternal rest on Sunday October 9, 2016 at her daughter's home to be with her Lord and Savior and to join her beloved husband Richard A. McCorkle. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 10, 1935 to Mary Ann (Boyle) and Francis Curran. Catherine graduated from Little Flower High School for girls in 1953. Catherine and her husband resided in Allentown, PA for 32 years. Catherine often said the best years of her life were spent traveling with her husband in their motor home visiting all 48 contiguous states. After finishing their travels, they set up house-keeping again in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas for 22 years. She spent the last 5 years of her life in York, PA to be closer to her family, friends and her "Mr. Sunshine" in the North East. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Francis, Cornelius and Thomas, sister Rita, and grandsons David and Jonathan. Catherine will be remembered for her warm and caring nature and her ability to make friends wherever she went. She was loved by all who knew her. Left to cherish memories of her are her loving daughters Lynn (Dan) Mickinac of Bluffton, SC, Kathy McCorkle of West Palm Beach, FL, and Cindy (Michael) McWilliams of York, PA; grandchildren Andrew, Becky, Matthew, Keenan, Nathan, Jared, Philip and Liam; great grandchildren Arianna, Aidan (Mr. Sunshine") and Aijay. She is also survived by her beloved siblings Joseph and Mary, and sister and brother-in-law Thelma and Jack Gill, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends from all over the country. A celebration of life Mass will be planned at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in York at the convenience of the family.
