Catherine Angst, 79, of Bethlehem, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. She was the wife of Kermit A. Angst for 59 years. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Timko) Czap. Catherine was employed by the Bethlehem Area School District from 1974-1978. Later she worked as a clerk at Union Bank through many corporate transitions until retiring from Core States Bank in 1996. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church. Survivors: Husband, Kermit; daughters, Dawn Marie Smith and Karen Ann, wife of David Hanzelman, who was Catherine's favorite, all of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Rachel Catherine Smith, Lance Corporal Leah Marie Smith and Alec David Smith; and granddog, Shilo. She was predeceased by siblings, Helen, Mary, Julie, Steve, John and Anne. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, February 20, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem.
