CATHARINE Q. AMBOS
AMBOS, Catharine Q. Of Sherborn, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham at the age of 87. Born, raised and educated in Bloomfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Harold Herbert and Catharine Minthorne (Luke) Quick. Over the years, she developed a strong interest for music and drama and became a skilled pianist and vocalist. For more than 40 years, she sang with the Sherborn Music Makers; played in several Sherborn Players productions; including "Three to Get Ready" and "Arsenic And Old Lace", in which she played the lead. She was also active in other community activities such as Campfire Girls, Friends of the Sherborn Library, and League of Women Voters. Catharine was most delighted at the opportunity to visit her daughter Beth while she attended graduate school in Honolulu, Hawaii. She and Robert sailed on a rented boat in the British Virgin Island waters with friends, and enjoyed many overseas trips to European destinations. In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by her children Elizabeth L. Ambos and her husband Fritz Theyer of Washington, D.C., Douglas S.
