TALAGA, Carolyn Lucille "Toots" Essexville, Michigan Carolyn Lucille Talaga, 73, of Essexville, our most loving, caring, happy-go-lucky, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on the afternoon of Saturday, October 15, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region. Carolyn was born in Bay City on February 14, 1943, the daughter of the late Raymond Albert and Elizabeth May (Mulders) Tacey. She attended St. John's School and graduated from Bay City Central with the Class of 1961. While at Central, Carolyn met David Talaga. They went on their first date to the State Theatre, fell in love, and were united in marriage on February 1, 1964. Throughout life, Carolyn was known for her excellent work ethic. She was an all-around talented lady, farmer, seamstress, and enjoyed raising her children and taking care of her family. Carolyn enjoyed canning, camping, fishing (and anything outdoors related), sewing, reading, traveling throughout the United States, playing cards, and spending time with those she loved most. She will forever be remembered for her fun loving nature, determined ways of never taking no for an answer and her generous spirit. In addition to David, her loving husband of 52 years, Carolyn leaves to carry on her legacy their two children: Gerald "Jerry" David Talaga and his wife, Kathy and Bonnie Sue Sroka and her husband, Mike. She was the loving grandmother of Andrew Christopher Talaga and will remain alive in the hearts of her brothers, Raymond J. Tacey and his wife, Bernadine, Leslie F. Tacey and his wife, Sally, along with many nieces, nephews, and her granddog, Sammie. Carolyn's family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the time of her 11:00 AM Tribute Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. A Celebration of Life Reception will immediately follow in The Wesley Room at Skorupski's with private interment to be held in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
