Curtis Caroletta Dalton Curtis, age 90, retired college professor, College of Social Work, The Ohio State University, transitioned to her position in the presence of God, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Wesley Ridge Retirement Community, Reynoldsburg, OH. Caroletta graduated from Douglas High School, Oklahoma City, OK; she then graduated from Lincoln University, Jefferson City, MO with a BA degree in 1947. After teaching in Bartlesville, OK one year, Caroletta decided to pursue a master's degree in social work. She graduated from Atlanta University with a Master's of Social Work degree in 1950. Years of clinical experience enabled her appointment as faculty in the Ohio State University College of Social Work from which she retired after 28 years of service. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jack Leroy Curtis and her son Jack L. Curtis, Jr. She leaves to cherish and rejoice in her memory her daughter, Carla M. Curtis; her granddaughter, Candace Michelle; sister, Mrs. Zane Cody, St. Louis, MO; nieces, a nephew, god children, adopted children and beloved sister friends. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 2956 Cleveland Avenue, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Dr. Keith Troy officiating.
