Dr. Carol Kay Wilson Dr. Carol Kay Wilson was born March 25, 1941 in Kansas City, MO. She was called to heaven on Tuesday morning, March 28, at Magnolia Square. Carol was born in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in Springfield and Bolivar. She attended Pepperdine Elementary, Reed Junior High, and Hillcrest High School and she graduated from Bolivar High School in 1959. She attended college at Southwest Baptist University and graduated in 1961. She later received a doctorate degree in Religious Education from Louisiana Theological Seminary. Carol participated in music and theatre programs throughout her education years. Throughout her life she was an accomplished cello, piano, and organ player. During their life together they lived in eight different states and she was a pastor's wife to nine different congregations. She was also a published writer and a popular speaker for many years of her life. In 2008, she received the Alumni Life Service Award from Southwest Baptist University. Carol was an educator and taught elementary, junior high, and high school students for over 40 years. She took great pleasure and pride in opening young minds to the power and possibilities of education. It was important to her that both the spiritual and intellectual needs of each child under her care were properly nurtured. Carol would often say that her most important role was that of mother to her three children. Her legacy is epitomized by Proverbs 31:28 "Her children rise up and call her blessed." She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Larry Inmon, and sister , Sharon Lee Inmon. Carol is survived by her son, Daniel of Santa Monica, CA; son and daughter-in-law, David and Susan of Wichita, KS; daughter and son-in-law, Joy Noel and Jonathan Douglas of Grand Cayman. Most cherished were her three grandchildren, Hallie and Hannah Wilson and Elijah Douglas. The family would like to thank the staff of Magnolia Square who provided exceptional care and affection to Carol during her last two years. A Remembrance of her Life will be held in early June at a time and place still to be decided.
