Carol Lee Moxley, age 74, of Dickerson, died Saturday, October 15, 2016 at her home after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born November 13, 1941 in Union Bridge, she was the daughter of the late David Ezra and Lillie Weddle Grimes. She was the wife of Paul W. Moxley, her husband of 57 years. Carol was a member of the former Beaver Dam Church of the Brethren. She had been employed with Fedders of Walkersville, Village Restaurant of Frederick, Frederick County Public Schools in the cafeteria at Linganore High School and Standard Federal Savings Bank of Frederick. She enjoyed reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, family gatherings, birdwatching, cooking and baking and babysitting the grandchildren. In addition to her husband she is survived by seven children, Kathy Balderson of Mt. Airy; Kelly Moxley and LeeAnn Drust of Inwood, WV; Kevin Moxley and wife Dianna of Petersville; Kasey Messner and husband Bryan of Libertytown; Keith Moxley and Karen Gal of New Windsor; twins, Kriss Moxley and Leann Michael of Hagerstown and Kraig Moxley and wife Sarah of Dickerson; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Bonnie Dodson and husband Robert of Mt. Airy; Maxine VanStaden of Ladysmith, VA and Eunice Stottlemeyer and husband Ronnie of Hedgesville, WV and a brother, Robert Grimes and wife Sharon of Union Bridge. She was predeceased by a brother, Wayne Grimes. A funeral service will be held at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown, at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20, with Rev. YuJung Hwang, pastor of Forest Grove and Dickerson United Methodist Churches, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 19.
