Carol Lee McLain, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend, peacefully passed away on October 10, 2016. She was 77. Carol was born in Phoenix, Arizona on October 8, 1939. She was raised in Bard, California and graduated from Yuma High School in 1957. Carol worked as a real estate broker, managed several family businesses and owned and operated the 32nd St. Dairy Queen. She was a longtime member of Yuma Center for Spiritual Living. She belonged to Eastern Star, Ladies of the Shrine, was active in Job's Daughters and served as guardian of that organization. She loved pageants and worked for many years with the Miss Arizona Pageant as a traveling companion. She was a mentor to many young women throughout her life. She was creative and crafty and always had an ongoing project. She is survived by her daughter Cindi Steen, grandchildren Sarah Steen and her husband Ryan Moore, Kimberlee Steen, and Craig Steen, her sisters Dorothy Euhus and Earlene Wariner-Martin, step daughter Pat Albright, step son Mike McLain and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Ed McLain, her mother Loyce Hargreaves, her father W.T. Wariner, her nephew Jeffery Seiber and her. granddaughter Nichol Minardo. A private family burial will be held at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Her celebration of life, for friends and family, will be at 3:30, Monday, October 17, 2016., at Johnson Mortuary 1415 S. 1st Ave, Yuma, AZ 85364. Celebration will continue with a reception, following the service in the hospitality room. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Yuma or Humane Society of Yuma.
